What is cable railing

DESIGN LOADS
All decks shall be designed to support a live load of 40 lbs. per square foot and a dead load of 15 lbs. per square foot.
WOOD REQUIREMENTS
All framing lumber shall be Southern Pine, Grade #2 or better and shall be pressure treated ACQ or CA-B in accordance
with American Wood-Preservers’ Association Standards. All lumber in contact with the ground shall be rated as “ground contact”.
DECKING REQUIREMENTS
All decking material shall be 5/4 (five-quarter) board. Attach decking to each joist with a minimum of (2) 2-1/2” wood screws.
Handcap Guidlines
The maximum slope for an ADA-compliant wheelchair ramp is 1:12, which means for every 1 inch of vertical rise, there must be 12 inches (1 foot) of horizontal run. This creates a 4.8° incline. The maximum rise per run is 30 inches, requiring a level landing before continuing.
Minimum Width: 36 inches
